I was tickled to see your newsletter in my email yesterday. I always look forward to it; I enjoy your lively writing style, particularly the pithy asides. I absolutely love both colors you've chosen for paint. As much work as it is, paint is the quickest way to transform a room and set a mood. When we moved into our house 15 years ago I painted every.single.room - my favorite is a color called Baby Turtle - and now I can't believe I did it. Who was that person with all that energy? Looking forward to more of your writing and I think you should name your newsletter Tea With Florence. Hello from Missoula, Montana USA.

My thanks to Neve also for telling you we are in need of a newsletter. No matter the subject, we are always happy to hear what's going on in your life. I love that your husband picked a paint color based on your name. I think that's so sweet. Your book thoughts will come next time, right?

Husband suddenly had a vision for our very difficult, terraced garden (we live on the slope of a hill). He having paid no attention to my struggles with it over the previous 10 years, I stepped back and let him get on with it over lockdown. He has now acknowledged that it's impossible for one person to transform, and as I write we have a bevy of stonemasons and woodworkers outside shoring up walls, creating a pond and redoing an archway. It's still his vision, but it will now be safe! I love both the paint colours. Sometimes you have to live with something for years before you can find the energy ( and the cash) to sort it out.

How wonderful there is a paint called Tea with Florence. I think we should all paint one room of our houses with this so you will have to come and have tea with us! Yours bottomly, Sarahx

So---here I am again---commenting away!!! I wondered in my first comment whether you were going to include books in your next newsletter, but on second thought, I really would like to see how the redecorating comes out. Send us a photo or two!

Hurray, you're back! I have tubs upon tubs of paint here, bought in a fit of enthusiasm/determination that didn't last long enough to actually do the painting... so when you've finished with your house please do head this way! We once discussed (lightheartedly, like you) a living arrangement involving our own separate next-door flats with an interconnecting door, and it was very appealing to both of us. LOLing at your account of the unsupervised trip to the paint shop. May we see your upholstery work? x
