Last hump-day I was at a cafe in Paris getting some tender eggybegwegs (delicious, with a slight piquancy) in my belly and feeling tickety-boo when the classy ladies at the next table started farting and belching! One of them then gave a whimsical, soothing, sigh and the other one a saucy, sensual cough that saw some mucus fly out. Rank!!!

I had a mega brouhaha, my mood a bellicose one! No “pardon me” - just the repugnant sound of near-diarrhoea like secretions from the boss lady and her bolshy friend.

The trendy kids having a cheeky drink behind me said it was a bit cringe and I agreed!!

“Don’t take agin a pregnant woman” one of the ladies said. “It’s not Flo’s fault her womb is a bit funky!”

I felt bad and gave her my last quesadilla. “Enjoy some self-care” I said. It was a poignant moment.

Does anyone actually call you Flossie, I wonder, and, if so, how do you feel about that?

I despise the word fondle (and several others that I can't recall at this moment). And the days of the week are always colors in my mind--Sunday white, Monday yellow, Tuesday blue, Wednesday orange, Thursday magenta, Friday brown, Saturday gray. No clue why that is...

The "c" word of course. And because of my work with dementia, I try not to use remember.

James is red, maybe a hangover from reading Thomas the ****Tank Engine to my children?

Now, don’t get me started on children’s storybooks I used to ha...sorry...strongly dislike reading to my little ones! Or was it just me??

Oh no - I am now wincing (didn't want to say cringing in case that's as bad as 'a bit cringe') because I think I may have called you Flo when doing lazy texting! So sorry. I hope I didn't inadvertently cause you to mentally remove any vital pieces of clothing. I know how you feel as Phillip is like that when people call him 'Phil'!

I am intrigued by the seeing names/words in colours. Is it something that you decide to do one day and then it just carries on or is it something you've always just done naturally without mentally deciding to do it? I don't do this but my daughter used to do something similar.

Really love the subject of words you don't like. I've taken a disliking to the most overused word in the last two years 'unprecedented' (mostly used by politicians) and I dislike some over-used expressions, that pop out of nowhere and then seem to be used by everyone everywhere like: 'What will that look like?" and "Who knew?" or "let's unpack that!". When people say them I shout – but only in my head! However, I know they are useful expressions so I'm not sure why I have this reaction to them! I suspect I may be the only one with this adverse reaction to popular phrases!

No intention of writing a political post, but currently in the US, the word patriot has been misappropriated and used to describe a whole raft of people who are anything but patriotic. Consequently, I can’t stand to hear that word used in any context for the time being.

Also don’t like fart, turd, and shit when I read them. Interesting, since I was a clinical microbiologist for many years and observed many samples of patient feces, including diarrhea. Sorry, couldn’t resist! These few words are, fortunately, balanced by so many other beautiful words in the English and other languages. Who doesn’t love “onomatopoeia”?

I agree with some of your most hated words, but I did shudder when you mentioned that James is yellow, or occaisionally blue. Uggghhh. James is RED!! x
